Advice - Is air conditioning expensive to run?
All new air conditioning units are energy labeled for energy efficiency, so the most efficient types will have “A” ratings for energy efficiency. We will tell you the energy ratings of the equipment we would use, these figures can then be multiplied by the price you pay for your electricity to give the approximate annual cost of running the equipment.
These are given by the manufacturer, based on 500 hours of running at full speed as annual energy consumption figures (AEE).
So for instance a 7kW Daikin inverter cassette with an AEE of 990 and an electricity price of 6.4p per kW/hour.
The cost to run would be 990x £0.064= £63.36
Therefore cost of electricity for the year = £63.36.
